In the game of blackjack, there are usually three methods used in cheating the house namely palming, signaling, or smearing. Palming is very popular and understood.
However, palming is a trick that usually requires professional standards. In addition, casinos have personnel whose only task is to observe the players and there is also a closed-circuit television monitoring every action so that any cheating attempts will not be pulled off without escaping the scrutiny of both the personnel and the monitor.
Casinos are more afraid of another cheating method which is "smearing", wherein a player coats a substance on a specific card so that it can be identified in the future.
The most recognized cheating method is signaling. This demands a minimum of two players collaborating, although this increases the chance to be suspected, the process of signaling itself can be quite a challenge for a nonchalant observer to detect.
